Against tough competition, the Panthers prove their worth through excellent play, reaching the third round of CIF division play before losing to Diamond Bar.

Following a successful regular season in which they won the Prep League title over defending champion Webb, the boys varsity tennis team continued their domination through the first two rounds of the CIF Division II playoffs by destroying Atascadero 15-3 and edging Villa Park 10-8.

With the end of school comes the end of spring sports, specifically, golf, track and badminton.

Once again, summer is upon us. Just one step outside reminds us of the time of year in the beautiful City of Angels. However, with the coming of this wonderful time of year, we must bid goodbye to three spring sports: track, badminton, and golf.

Poly students and faculty have been missing Tom Allard’s familiar and friendly face on campus in the past few weeks. Middle and Upper School technical theater teacher, Allard was caught in an unfortunate motorcycle accident on Saturday, May 3.

The Alumni Association hosted the first of several filmmakers’ evenings on Friday,
May 9. The evening featured the classic 1974 film Murder on the Orient Express followed by a question and answer session with screenwriter Mike White ’88. The Alumni Association hosted the event in order to give alumni an additional chance to reconnect during reunion weekend.

Boys volleyball’s successful season is cut tragically short in CIF playoffs.

Seniors Stuart Lantry’s and Alex Bea’s spikes were not an issue Tuesday night when the Panthers faced their second CIF volleyball game of the season against Laguna Blanca. Both stood straight and tall when it mattered most. They were quick to spike and moved around the volleyball court.
